While visiting the Toronto downtown waterfront area outdoor skating rink with family I discovered this wonderful bridge over the end of one of the waterway areas nearby. The lines of the bridge were beautiful.
So when I got home I tried to find out more about it and discovered it is not a bridge – but rather it is a wave deck, specifically the Simcoe WaveDeck. It is one of four being built at the bottom end of major Toronto waterfront streets by the end of 2012. This was the first wave deck built – a curvy, boardwalk meets bridge structure.
What I did not see or discover was what lay on the other side of the visible bridge section I was looking at as I was concentrating on the harborfront area during my exploration. I missed a lot – lesson learned – move around and see things from all angles possible.
